The Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Ghorepani Poonhill takes you deep into the heart of the majestic Annapurna Himalaya range, surrounded by an awe-inspiring array of towering snow-capped peaks—a true sanctuary for gods and mountain spirits.
Recognized as one of the most magnificent adventures in the entire Himalayas, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a journey that surprises and captivates every trekker. Over the course of a week, you will traverse diverse climates, starting from the lush subtropical valleys, ascending to cooler hills, and finally entering the stark, glacial Arctic zone.
The Annapurna massif features an impressive lineup of peaks, including the formidable Annapurna I at 8,091 meters, along with Annapurna II, III, IV, and Annapurna South, as well as Hiunchuli, Tent Peak, Tharpu Chuli, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, and the iconic Machhapuchhare, known as the Fish Tail Peak.
Interestingly, many trekkers may not know that Annapurna I was the first 8,000-meter peak ever conquered, achieved by a French expedition on June 3, 1950, three years before the ascent of Mount Everest. Today, Annapurna stands as the 10th highest mountain in the world, a part of this colossal range that derives its name from the ancient Sanskrit words “Anna,” meaning food or crops, and “Purna,” meaning enough or plenty.
The trek begins and ends in the picturesque city of Pokhara, renowned for its stunning natural beauty, including breathtaking snow peaks, rolling green hills, and tranquil lakes. It is a beloved destination not only in Nepal but throughout the Himalayas.
The best seasons to trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) and Ghorepani Poonhill are indeed March to May and September to November
