Overview

Enjoy a short but memorable 5-day trek in the heart of the Annapurna Region. This Annapurna Panorama trek starts from the city of Pokhara by taking a private Jeep to Nayapul. Then it takes you through the beautiful green valley, Gurung village and stunning mountain views at every step. You don’t have to gain too much altitude to enjoy the view of mountain peaks. From the trail by staying at low altitude, you can enjoy the majestic view of the Annapurna range, including the famous Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain).

This short 5 Days Annapurna Panorama is a perfect trekking destination that can be done with friends and family. This trek is suitable for those who have limited time to explore the beauty of Nepal and mountain peaks.

Even though this trek is short, it is full of adventure as you will experience local Gurung Culture, warm hospitality, and enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountain peaks. You don’t have to take stress to build the fitness that most treks demand. This trek is stress-free, comfortable, relaxing and best for people of all ages.

Highlights of the Annapurna Panorama trek

  • Enjoy the sunrise from Poon Hill and capture the golden hues of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges at 3,210 meters.
  • Visit Gurung villages such as Ulleri, Tikhedhunga, and Tadapani to experience local culture, traditional stone houses and local markets.
  • Walk through lush hills, forest areas, and terraced fields while enjoying the breathtaking landscape and beautiful mountain peaks.
  • Relax at the natural hot spring at Jhinu Danda to relax after the completion of the trek.

Best Time To Do Annapurna Panorama Trek

Annapurna Panorama trek takes only 5 days to complete from Pokhara. So, due to short itinerary days and low altitude trek, it is possible to participate throughout the year. However, for the best experience and for comfortable trekking, we recommend doing it in the months of March, April, May, September, October, November and December.

During this time, you can enjoy the trek to the fullest and witness breathtaking views of mountain peaks and the landscape. Trekking in the monsoon season( June and July) is generally not recommended as trekking trails can be slippery and muddy.

Annapurna Panorama Trek Difficulty and fitness Requirements?

Annapurna Panorama trek is a short, easy and most popular trek in the Annapurna Region. Normal people with basic fitness can join this trek. On this 5-day trek, you will walk an average of 4-5 hours every day. The trail is well-maintained and well-marked.
Experienced trekkers can do this trek solo, but for those who want to do it with family and trekking for the first time, we recommend hiring a trekking Guide.

If you are beginner trekkers or trekking for the first time, we suggest to follow this tips:

  • Start doing light exercise or walking everyday at least half an hour.
  • Always trek at your own pace and take necessary breaks when you feel you need.
  • Make a habit of drinking water during the trek.
  • Wear comfortable trekking shoes
  • Carry only the necessary items in your backpack. Let the porter handle your main luggage.
  • Follow the guide’s instructions. If you feel unwell or tired, inform your trekking Guide.
  • Sleep enough at the lodge so that you will remain fresh and active for the next day’s adventure.
  • Eat a balanced diet meal in the lodge and avoid alcohol.

Daily Routine on the Annapurna Panorama Trek: What to Expect

  • Morning: Wake up around 6:30-7:00 AM. Enjoy a hearty breakfast of porridge, eggs, and toast before hitting the trail.
  • Lunch: You’ll stop for a hot lunch at a teahouse around midday (e.g., noodles, fried rice, Dal Bhat).
  • Afternoon: Arrive at your lodge by 3-4 PM. Check into your room, relax with a cup of tea, and enjoy the sunset views.
  • Evening: The dining hall comes alive. Enjoy a delicious dinner (Dal Bhat is a popular choice!) followed by an early night to rest for the next day’s adventure.

Note: I’ve done the Annapurna Panorama Trek and Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, and both were unforgettable. For a short trek, try Ghorepani Poon Hill (4–5 days), Dhampus Australian Camp (2–3 days), or Short Mardi Himal (5–6 days). For longer adventures, the Annapurna Base Camp (10–14 days) and Annapurna Circuit (12–18 days) offer full Himalayan immersion with stunning landscapes and local culture.
