Introduction

Luxury Manaslu Circuit Trek is a 17-day, well-planned trip that offers adventure and comfort. This is a unique trekking experience where one can enjoy the untouched beauty, remote valleys and rich culture of the Manaslu region.

In contrast to the classic trekking approach, this upscale version of the Manaslu trek is all about the personalized service, quality lodges, and slow-paced trek that will help you get to know the Himalayas. It is the best option to be taken by those who want to get to know the wild mountain roads in Nepal and at the same time experience the luxury, security and beauty of a high-quality travel journey.

Major Attraction of Luxury Manaslu Circuit Trek

Scenic Drive to Machha Khola

This luxury Manaslu adventure starts by taking a scenic drive between Kathmandu and Machha Khola. The trip provides breathtaking scenery of terraced fields, green hills, rivers, and traditional rural villages. It is an ideal beginning to experience the beauty of the countryside in Nepal, and then move to remote mountain trails.

Cultural Experience in Traditional Villages

Explorations of quaint Gurung and Magar, and Tibetan-oriented villages where old traditions, hospitality, and the traditional way of life are still intact. Meet people, explore ancient monasteries and get exposed to the real Himalayan culture.

Majestic Views of Mount Manaslu (8,163m)

This means one would have a breathtaking experience of Mount Manaslu, the 8th-highest mountain in the world, during the trek. The wild colours of the mountain, its spectacular sceneries during sunrise and sunset, make it unforgettable to be photographed.

Manaslu Conservation Area

Hike across the untouched Manaslu Conservation Area, home to exotic animals such as Snow Leopards, Himalayan Thar and red pandas. The area also has biodiversity, alpine forests and calm mountain rivers.

Crossing the Larkya La Pass (5,160m)

The most exciting and rewarding part of the trek, standing on the highest point of the route. Get a breathtaking sight of the magnificent Himalayas, such as Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru and Annapurna II. It feels like a real success when you pass this difficult but picturesque pass; it is one of the highlights of the whole Manaslu trip.

Best Time to Go For the Luxury Manaslu Circuit Trek

The best season to do a Luxury Manaslu Circuit Trek is in the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. It is usually mild and clear in spring, which makes it the ideal season to explore the mountain and take in the spectacular views with the mountain. The rhododendrons also grow along the paths, which provide a splash of colour in the scenery. Although the weather is generally constant, at higher elevations, there are occasional drops at low temperatures and in late May, there might be early monsoon rain.

In autumn, the weather is the most predictable with clear and dust-free skies and breathtaking views of Mount Manaslu and the neighbouring mountains. The scenery is very green and fertile, and this time of year is also when trekkers can enjoy local festivals such as Dashain and Tihar.

Autumn is the most popular trekking season, so compared to other seasons, you can expect crowds on the trekking trails. Winter and monsoon seasons are not so good: winter is terribly cold and snowy, whereas monsoon is terribly wet and slippery. Therefore, trekkers avoid trekking during the winter and monsoon season for safety.

How Hard Is Luxury Manaslu Circuit Trek

Manaslu Circuit trek is considered a challenging trek, and this trek can be tough for those who are trekking for the first time in Nepal. Even if you have done a high-altitude trek, trekking in the remote region of Nepal is tough. So here are some of the challenging factors that you should understand before heading on this luxury Manaslu Circuit Trek.

  • High Altitude – On the 17-day luxury Manaslu Circuit trek, the maximum altitude you reach is Larkya La pass(5,160m). While reaching such an altitude, there is a possibility of experiencing physical difficulties due to the high elevation if proper acclimatisation steps are not taken.
  • Long Trekking Days – For beginner trekkers who are unaware of the long itinerary trek, this trek can be tough. Trekkers need to walk for an average of 5-6 hours, sometimes up to 7 hours in rough terrain conditions.
  • Remote Location – Even though our company will arrange the best accommodation during the trek, remember that in some places you need to stay in a shared room. Also, medical facilities, mobile networks and hot showers may not be available in high altitude areas.
Unpredictable Weather – The weather conditions in the high mountain region, like Manaslu, can be unpredictable. Such conditions can add difficulties like trouble in trekking due to snow, strong wind, rain, landslide or flood.
  • Steep and Rocky Trails – Trekkers need to pass several steep ascents and descents throughout the trek, which include rocky paths and uneven terrain. This can be tough for those who don’t have good physical fitness.
  • Lack of Crowds and Support – Unlike the famous Everest and Annapurna regions, you can expect very few trekkers and trekking facilities on the trekking trail. For emergency support, you need to have travel insurance that covers immediate helicopter rescue.
  • Cold Temperatures at Night – Even during the favourable season, the temperature at night in the high altitude drops significantly. So trekkers must prepare with layers of clothing and proper trekking gear.
