Mardi Himal Trekking takes you into hidden pockets of Annapurna Himalaya, located far and remote areas on less ventured region of Nepal North Mid-West, Mardi Himal trekking at present slowly getting popular.

An adventure within tranquil mountain wilderness where you will be fascinated by array of high snow-capped mountain range that surrounds you at Mardi Himal base camp.

Mardi Himal a smaller mountain listed as Nepal trekking peaks at the height of above 5, 587 m and 18,325 feet, which is actually a broken and separated southern flanks and lower ridge of towering Machhapuchare Himal the famous Fish-Tail peak.

The area around Mardi Himal was first explored by early pioneer way back in 1960’s to find new routes of Annapurna Base Camp and the sanctuary, that is why Mardi Himal is also known as ‘The Other Sanctuary”.

A beautiful small country enclosed by series of rolling green hills and high mountains of Annapurna Himalaya with views of Dhaulagiri in the far west with Manaslu towards east direction.

Several direction to reach at Mardi Himal but the normal and most accessible trail is from Potana and Deurali where our route leads you to, on following scenic path with ever present views of Annapurna Himalaya in the comfort of nice mountain lodge.

Mardi Himal Trekking begins from scenic and most beautiful Pokhara, a city blessed with awesome beauty of snow-capped mountains, rolling green hills and verdant valley.

From Pokhara takes you to foot hills and then climb follows to reach around nice lovely farm villages with ever present views of Annapurna Himalaya as walk progress our route diverts from main popular path to head into hidden areas of Mardi Himal.

Walk takes you into deep forested area with steady climb to reach our final highlight destination at Mardi Himal base camp on the highest spot where you will be engulfed with giant mountain range.

Enjoying spectacular panorama of surrounding snow-capped peaks and dramatic landscapes then ending our adventure on high hills and mountain range heading back towards low warm farm village to reach at Pokhara.

Pokhara a great picturesque place to conclude our fabulous adventure ‘Mardi Himal Trekking’, after an enjoyable time and mesmerizing experience on hidden pockets of Nepal Mid-West Himalaya.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Pokhara 820 m (220 kms) – 06 hrs.
Day 02: Drive to Kande 1,520 m walk to Potana 1,940 m via Australian Camp 2,050 m – 05 hrs.
Day 03: Trek to Kokar Forest camp 2,520 m via Deurali 2,110 m- 05 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Badal Danda / Low Camp 2,970 m – 05 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to High Camp 3,700 m – 05 hrs.
Day 06: At High Camp for hike to Mardi Himal base camp above 4,490 m.
Day 07: Trek to Low Camp – 05 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Siding village 1,230 m – 06 hrs.
Day 09: Drive to Pokhara via Mardipul village – 03 hrs.
Day 10: Drive to Kathmandu – 06 hrs.

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 01: Drive to Pokhara 820 m (220 kms) - 06 hrs.

    An early morning start with interesting overland journey to reach around Annapurna Himalaya at Nepal Mid-West region. Drive continues beyond Kathmandu valley past spread-out farm villages within cultivated areas following Trisuli River for sometimes, and then road diverts heading west to reach at scenic and beautiful Pokhara for overnight stop. Pokhara, a renowned touristic spot blessed with unique scenery and natural wonders of high Annapurna mountain range with famous Machhapuchare the Fish-Tail peak where reflection touches the surface of Phewa and Begnas Lakes. At Phewa / Fewa Lake where most good hotels are located with views of Annapurna Himalaya, in Pokhara where our trek begins and ends. (Pokhara can be reached taking an options of short 30 minutes flight from Kathmandu).

  • Day 02: Drive to Kande 1,520 m walk to Potana 1,940 m via Australian Camp 2,050 m - 05 hrs.

    First day starts with short hour drive to reach outskirt of Pokhara on a hill side town of Kande, where adventure begins with an hour climb to reach a wide spread-out farm at Thulo Kharka, also known as Australian Camp.

    Where you can enjoy panorama of Annapurna and Manaslu range with Dhaulagiri in the far west direction, after a refreshing break continue walk with descend into cool shade of forest and short steep climb to Potana village for overnight stop, located within forest surroundings with views of towering Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish-Tail’ peaks.

  • Day 03:  Trek to Kokar Forest camp 2,520 m via Deurali 2,110 m- 05 hrs.

    Second day walk begins with climb into lovely forested trail to reach a high ridge at Pritim Deurali a place with few small tea-shops and lodge facing grand views of peaks and surrounding high hills. From here our route takes you away from mainstream popular trekking trails, heading into hidden country towards Mardi Himal, as walk continues with climb into lovely rhododendron, magnolia, oaks and pine tree lines to reach our overnight stop at Kokar / Forest camp.

  • Day 04: Trek to Badal Danda / Low Camp 2,970 m - 05 hrs.

    From the forest camp morning walks follows towards much higher elevation with steep climb with deep dense forest to reach Badal Danda or Low Camp for overnight stop.

    A nice peaceful spot in the midst of lovely woodland, on reaching after a pleasant walk check into a nice simple lodge with views of white snow-capped peaks in the north direction.

  • Day 05: Trek to High Camp 3,700 m - 05 hrs.

    After overnight stop at Low Camp our adventure begins with morning walk heading towards higher region as route takes you at higher elevation then ending the day reaching at High Camp.

    From here onward tree lines drops for few smaller bush and shrubs of dwarf rhododendron and juniper rewards you with scenic views of beautiful landscapes and snow peaks.

  • Day 06: At High Camp for hike to Mardi Himal base camp above 4,490 m.

    Spending extra nigh at High Camp for day hike to reach on the highest spot of the adventure, as morning walk takes you towards higher ridge line with views of high snow clad peaks on both side of the trail.

    Air gets much cooler as you reach the high point of the trek at Mardi Himal Base Camp located above 4,490 m close to Mardi Himal peak and towering majestic Machhapuchare Himal, Fish-Tail peak.

    Enjoy super panorama of high snow mountains that surrounds you and then head back to High Camp for overnight stop after an exciting and glorious day walks.

  • Day 07: Trek to Low Camp - 05 hrs.

    From High Camp on gradual descent to reach back into deep forest as walk takes you lower area as altitude drops every hour to reach at Badal Danda / Low Camp for last overnight stop on high hills of Mardi Himal Area.

  • Day 08: Trek to Siding village 1,230 m - 06 hrs.

    From the middle of nowhere within forest surrounding morning walk takes you to long descend as elevation lowers on reaching at the bottom of Mardi Himal hill at Sidang farm village for overnight stop, located close to motorable road that takes you to Pokhara next morning.

  • Day 09:  Drive to Pokhara via Mardipul village - 03 hrs.

    Morning our trek completes on boarding in a vehicle where drive takes you towards many farm villages and well-tended agricultural farm terraces and following Mardi River, then route diverts towards nice road to reach at Pokhara Phewa lake side for last final overnight stop within Annapurna Himalaya.

  • Day 10: Drive to Kathmandu - 06 hrs.

    Morning depart from your hotel at Pokhara lake side for exciting drive to reach Kathmandu as journey leads tor farm areas past many villages and towns with views of beautiful landscapes scenery and mountains.

    Drive continues to reach winding uphill to reach Kathmandu, by late afternoon and then check into your hotels, rest of the evening at leisure for individual activities with group farewell dinner in a nice Nepalese restaurants.
