Nar Phu Valley Trekking follows the same trail of the Annapurna Circuit for a few days. On reaching Kodo Village, located midway of the main Manang route, from the Kodo village, the walk diverts from the mainstream.
The walk leads away from the main trail towards the hidden pockets of Nar Phu Valley. An exciting walk through the river gorge covered in dense pines and rhododendron trees. Trekkers will be surprised to reach the open and picturesque Nar Phu Valley. Standing, amidst beautiful and scenic landscapes that surround the Nar Phu Valley.
Slowly the walk reaches you to Phu village perched on a windblown high ridge. Have time to explore the villages steeped with ancient cultures of Tibetan heritage, and visit the old Tashi-Khang, Samdu Choling Monasteries.
After a mesmerizing experience around Phu Village, and its old traditional heritage and cultures, the walk leads to its adjoining Nar village. It is similar but quite smaller than Phu, a nice village to observe the native daily farm activities.
On completing the main highlights of the adventure, the return journey leads to the far end of Nar Phu Valley. To cross and traverse over the high Kang-La Pass, and facing spectacular views of Himlung Himal, and Annapurna Himalayan ranges.
From the top of Kang-La after a steep climb, then downhill towards Manang Valley to join the Annapurna Circuit trail. The walk follows the main popular route of Annapurna Circuit; trekkers will find a great difference. The walk follows from one lovely village to another reaching the main Manang Village.
Manang is located on a scenic spot within a wide and scenic valley enclosed by giant peaks of Annapurna Himalayas with Chulu’s Peak. After a wonderful time in Manang Village, the walk continues towards the end of Manang Valley. The adventure leads to another pass over Thorang-La, the highest point of the treks. From the top enjoy the mind-blowing panorama of snow-mountain ranges of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Chulus, and Damodar Himal.

The best seasons for Nar Phu Valley Trekking are spring and autumn/fall. The spring commences in March and ends in May, one of the best times for scenic views and pleasant walks. After an exciting day tour back to hotel for Nar Phu Valley Trek preparation with last minute shopping and checking the trekking gear.
Morning an exciting drive to Nepal Mid-West, the journey takes you on Nepal’s
main highway. The road follows the Trisuli River for few hours, and then the drive
diverts heading west leaving the main road. Then reaching around Lamjung
district at Bhesishar town for overnight halt. An interesting town to explore and
observe the local cultures of Gurung tribe.
The drive follows the Masrsyangdi River for a while and then on winding uphill
to Jagat village. Reaching around cooler hills, on leaving the low sub-tropical farm
areas. After few hours of drive on country rough dirt road then enter the Manang
district at Tal Besi. From here an hour less drive reaches to Dharapani Village for
first overnight in Manang district. Dharapani situated on the road-head and at
the junctions of Annapurna and Manaslu Circuit trekking.
Start the morning with first day of trekking, a pleasant walk on leaving
Dharapani. After a pleasant overnight in cooler surroundings, having good
Breakfast, the walk follows on winding ups. Reaching the smaller villages of
Bagarchap and Danaque with views of Manaslu, Annapurna and Lamjung Himal.
From the village of Danaque a steep climb for an hour more to Timang, a large
Village. Enjoy the grand majestic views of Manaslu Himalayan range towards east
at Timing for lunch stop. Afternoon walk downhill through lovely pine and
rhododendrons forest to reach Kodo for overnight halt.
Kodo with number of good lodges, located en route Annapurna Circuit trail, and
close to Chame. The headquarter town of Manang district, Kodo is the entrance
to Nar-Phu Valley, and the restricted area.
From Kodo village, the route to Nar Phu diverts on leaving the Annapurna circuit trail for a week. The walk enters the river gorge following through the rocky cliff wall with dense trees of blue pines and rhododendrons.
The walk continues on a narrow gorge, after few hours of good walk reaching a small farm settlement of Dharmasala. Which is also a rest place for early travelers with few simple huts as lodges. After a short rest walk further for an hour to Meta for overnight halt a quant small farm village.
The morning walk starts heading closer towards our destination to Phu village, as the landscapes changes. The walk proceeds towards dry and arid country, with chances of spotting some wildlife. Like the Blue Sheep, Himalayan Thar and Musk deer, and might catch glimpse of elusive Snow Leopard. Slowly the day ends on reaching Kyang for overnight stop in the comfort of a nice simple lodge.
Kyang is also located close en route to Himlung Himal Base Camp and towards Nar and Phu Villages. This small settlement offers dozens of Tibetan style built houses which serves as lodge, restaurants of impressive Buddhist culture.
Enjoying a pleasant night in Kyang, after breakfast a short morning hike to Phu village. The walk follows along the Phu River upstream for a while, and then head downhill. From the river gorge, climb leads to wide open scenic valley, where Phu village situated on a high eroded hilltop. The village of strong Tibetan cultural heritage and tradition of Buddhist religion. On reaching Phu Village check into a nice simple lodge. Rest of the afternoon relax and enjoy the views of snow-capped peaks that surrounds Phu Village.
A perfect height for rest and acclimatization day at Phu village, before crossing over Kang-La Pass. At Phu, explore around the village and visit the old Tashi-Khang, and Samdo Choling Monastery with views of Kyuchi waterfalls.
Phu Village with about 30 houses for more than inhabitants, where most houses are attached close to each other. Rest of the day short hike for the best surrounding scenery of snow-capped mountains.
From Phu, after an exciting experience, morning walk downhill to the Phu River side. The walk leads to the bottom of Phu village, then reaching at Nar Phedi, a small settlement with few houses. Overnight at Nar Phedi Monastery guest house run by the nuns, with warm hospitality. Rest of the day explore around for grand scenery of surrounding dramatic landscapes.
After Nar Phedi, morning a short day with slow climb to Yughat, a small village with Mani, Chorten and Buddhist shrines. Then reaching at Nar-Gaon for lunch and overnight stop. Compared to Phu village, Nar is quite similar but smaller, located on the end of the windswept valley. Nar-Gaon offers few small lodge and inns for overnight stops, serving excellent meals with warm friendly environment.
Enjoying pleasant time at Nar-Gaon, morning walk towards isolated corners of Nar Phu Valley amidst sheer wilderness. But the walk is pleasant with slow rise in altitude with short up and down on a rocky path. The walk continues heading past Yak herder’s temporary shelters to reach Temdenzong Khola/stream.
After a pleasant scenic walk reaching the base of Kang-La Pass for overnight, in the comfort of a simple lodge accommodation.
Start with early breakfast to cross the first pass of the adventure, morning leads to steep climb on well-defined path. A strenuous haul for few hours until you reach on top of Kang-La Pass. From the top enjoy incredible views of the stunning peaks of Pisang, Chulu’s groups of peaks with Annapurna Himalayan range towards south. After a scenic moment, a long downhill takes you to the bottom of the pass. Then the walk gets easier to reach the first village of Ngawal, a small isolated farm village with good simple lodge. From here around the scenic Manang Valley, the native of Manang are kin to Nar and Phu people.
After crossing Kang-La, the walk is pleasant following a scenic path. From Ngawal, after an hour or more the walk joins the Annapurna Circuit route towards Manang village. The walk leads to Braga village, worth a visit of the old Braga monastery, enriched with ancient artifacts and statues of various Buddha’s. The monastery stands high above the Manang Valley and Braga Village, offers grand views of Annapurna, Chulu’s and Pisang peaks. After an interesting tour of the monastery, a short easy walk to Manang village for overnight.
Manang is the main village of the valley, with many good lodges and restaurants as well bakery shops and stores. Located beneath Gangapurna Himal, Annapurna-II with Chulu’s towards north.
From Manang Village on the mainstream trail, a short day walk but the altitude
makes the hike slower. Walk follows on gradual path with slow winding up with
views of Chulu West and Gangapurna Himal. Then finally the morning walk
completes reaching a small settlement at Yak Kharka for lunch and overnight.
Another short morning walk towards the end of Manang Valley, the trail follows
past a small place of Leder. Then down to Jarsang Khola, stream with short up and
on gradual path to Phedi. Located at the end of a valley with few lodges, having
refreshing stop and continue with steep climb to High Camp.
At High Camp for lunch and overnight stop, the highest point for overnight stop,
the lodge accommodation is simple but nice.
The last day of tough climb to cross Thorang-La Pass, the highest point of the
adventures. Start with early breakfast and then follow the gradual small path, and
then on winding uphill for few hours. After a strenuous climb reach on top of
Thorang-La, the pass is festooned with prayer flags. Enjoy the spectacular
panorama of surrounding towering snow-capped mountain ranges.
The views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna group of peaks with Chulu’s and Manaslu
Himal towards east. After a refreshing morning hike and views head downhill
towards Mustang district at Muktinath.
A pleasant walk to follow, after the long climb and steep downhill from Thorang-
La Pass. From the western base of the pass, an hour more of good walk reaches
Muktinath Temple site. Then walk to the village located on the road-head, and
check into a nice lodge.
Muktinath Temple is a holy pilgrimage site for the Hindu followers, thousands of
pilgrims and devotees visits the temple. In auspicious time of the season to get
blessed, along with stunning views of Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges.
Morning interested people can enjoy the tour of the Muktinath Temple and its
108 water spouts. A nice serene complex, from Muktinath walk downhill on
winding path to Jharkot and then reaching Kaligandaki River Valley.
The walk is pleasant on a wide windswept valley of Kaligandaki River, to reach
Jomsom. A big town and headquarter of Mustang district, offers many nice and

Early morning breakfast, and short walk to Jomsom small airport as the small
aircraft arrives from Pokhara. Then walk to the parking lot and get on board in the
small plane for short sweeping flight to Pokhara. During flight enjoy the grand
vista of Nilgiri’s, Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range of peaks.
After less than 30 minutes the plane lands at Pokhara airport, from the airport a
short transfer to a nice hotels. Located close by the Phewa Lakeside, rest of the
day enjoy exploring around Pokhara and the lakeside. Pokhara is famous for
Adventure Sports activities, like Paragliding, Zip-Line, Ultra-Light and Bungee
Jumping or just take ride on a boat at Phewa Lake.
Morning after breakfast board on a bus or car as per size of a group, for an
exciting overland journey to Kathmandu. The drive of about six hours or more
covering a distance of 220 km or 137 miles. The drive heads east to reach Mugling
Bazaar, then follows the Trisuli River upstream for few hours. Leaving the low
farm areas and towns, the drive heads uphill to reach Kathmandu.
On reaching the city, transfer back to your respective hotels, after a marvelous
adventure to Nar Phu Valley Trekking.

There are three ways to get a visa for Nepal
1) Visa on arrival: You can get a visa on arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or other designated entry points. The visa fee is USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days, or USD 125 for 90 days.
2) Online application: You can apply for a visa online through the Nepal Immigration website. https://nepaliport.immigration.gov.np. The visa fee is the same as for visa on arrival.
3) Nepalese Embassy or Consulate: You can also apply for a visa at a Nepalese Embassy or Consulate in your home country. The visa fee may be different, so check with the embassy or consulate.

If your passport is not valid for at least six months, you will need to renew your passport before you travel to Nepal. You can renew your passport at your local passport office. The process of renewing your passport can take several weeks, so it is important to start the process early.

This trek is relatively difficult. The trek is indulged with 5-7 hours of daily walking except on the rest days. Also, the strenuous terrains of Kang La Pass and Thorang La Pass require a high level of fitness and adaptation for the trek completion and require an extreme level of mental endurance.

We have to obtain a Restricted Area Permit, an Annapurna Conservation Area permit, and a TIMS for this trek. TIMS is not compulsory, but it helps to track our location in case of an emergency
Train with Cardio, light gym training, and hike towards the higher altitudes. Acclimatize properly, gradual ascent, and proper hydration will help in the preparations. Some mild physical preparations, like cardio, are recommended.

It is not safe and prohibited to trek alone in the Nar Phu Valley. Peaceful Nepal treks does not advocate the idea of trekking alone to the strenuous regions like Nar Phu Valley and Annapurna Circuit, as they pose a great risk for the trekkers

The walk takes you to the remote corners of Himalayas, around the country of
Blue Sheep and snow leopard. The villages are untouched by modern civilization
along with spectacular scenery of snow mountain ranges. It is a great adventure
from isolated areas of Nar Phu Valley to main popular trails of Annapurna Circuit.
Not at all, the elevation rise is at slow pace, the altitude is not a big problem on
this trek. As long as ever members follows the guide instructions and moving
slowly with few stops. Drinking plenty of water to prevent from dehydration,
taking slow and steady walk with positive thinking is the best.
The only rapid rise in altitude is climb to Kang-La and Thorang-La Passes, by the
time of traverse of both passes most trekkers will be fully acclimatized.
From minimum of 3-4 hours to maximum of 6-7 hours, when crossing the high
passes of Kang-La and Thorang-La. The average walking hours will be 5-6 hours
most of the trekking days to reach the overnight stops.
The foods and accommodations are simple and good depending upon the places
for overnight and lunch stops. From Dharapani and Kodo to Nar Phu Villages the
lodge accommodation is simple, having rooms with common bath and toilets.
But back in Manang, Muktinath and Jomsom the rooms are better offers rooms
with attached bath and toilets. The food menu provided are simple with most
common Nepali Dhal-Bhat, noodle fried or with soup. Local breads, chapatti,
pancakes and varieties of seasonal vegetables. Momos either meat or vegetable
stuffed are available with various types of potatoes. Followed with refreshments
tea, coffee or hot chocolates. For breakfast oats porridge, cornflakes, variation of
eggs served with breads. Fresh fruits are rare, but can enjoy canned fruits.
At present most large villages and settlements have internet and Wi-Fi facilities,
