I did a 9-day Langtang Trek (starting and ending in Kathmandu) with Peaceful Nepal Treks and Tours in Oct/Nov 2024. It was a truly unforgettable experience! As a birdwatcher my focus wasn’t only the mountains of the Himalaya but also the wildlife of Langtang. And Bishnu was the best guide I could’ve imagined to show me the beauty of Langtang. Even though he isn’t a wildlife guide, he had a deep knowledge about the animals, especially the mammals of Langtang. We saw 99 different species of birds and spotted mammals like Himalayan Thar, Yellow-throated Marten and loads of Sacred Langurs, some of them less than 10m of the trail.
During the 9 days Bishnu seemed to know every teahouse along the way and always knew where best to stay. That way we completely avoided the crowds and I always had a private room (some other trekkers I talked to had to stay in tents because the teahouse they planned to stay was completely packed!).
And of course he also knew all the trails of Langtang, making it easy to adjust plans. I had one more day then needed for the normal route and Bishnu recommend adding an extension to Sherpagaon, which added completely new habitats and wildlife to the trip.
All in all it was a really amazing, worryless trek, well planned and executed by Peaceful Nepal and Bishnu. I can not recommend Peaceful Nepal enough. If you’re thinking about trekking in Nepal, you should definitely contact Peaceful Nepal Treks and Tours!
